Alex Otañez currently serves as the COO for Shockoe, an emerging technology agency known for introducing impactful mobile, augmented reality, and voice solutions that drive today’s leading retail and CPG businesses. Shockoe is one of Virginia’s fastest-growing digital companies and is featured in Forrester, Gartner, and Inc, and Entrepreneur Magazine.

Alex has more than 10 years of experience in digital transformation and app development in a range of industries including consumer goods, retail, and finance. He also serves on the board for Trolley Ventures and holds several advisory board roles in early-stage startups.

He resides in Richmond, VA with his wife Mary, daughter Emma, and their bulldog, Don Vito. When not focused bridging the digital gap, Alex is out fishing with Emma and Don Vito, or on a new adventure with Mary.
